The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning motorists that a traffic stoppage is expected on Saturday, July 27 on I-684 northbound from midnight until 12:30 a.m. and southbound from 12:30 a.m. through 1 a.m.

The closures are planned between exit 3 (Route 22) and exit 4 (Route 172). During the stoppages, motorists in the area can expect delays.

During the delays, the NYSDOT said that “drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

“Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”
